Joe Coyne

Applied Developmental Psychologist

​

Joe Coyne has over 30 years of experience in child and family psychology, with a particular focus on the developmental processes that contribute to healthy outcomes. He explores the impact of parenting and life events on individual trajectories, aiming to understand how these factors shape personal development. Joe has been incorporating attachment theory and research into contemporary treatment approaches for children, parents, and adults, advancing therapeutic practices in the field. He is an accredited therapist, international trainer and supervisor for the Circle of Security.

 

Joe holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from Griffith University and is an endorsed Clinical Psychologist and Educational and Developmental Psychologist. In addition to his clinical work, Joe was the Course Coordinator for the Masters of Educational & Developmental Psychology at QUT for 13 years and for 3 years of the Clinical Psychology program. His teaching interests include child and adolescent psychopathology, applied developmental psychology, clinical skills, and human attachment, with a commitment to equipping future psychologists with the knowledge and skills needed to address complex psychological issues.

 

Joe currently has his own practice, Attachment Informed Psychotherapy and Consulting, where he offers training, consultancy, psychotherapy and supervision, as well as being a contracted consultant and trainer for Circle of Security International.

Joe is currently not accepting new patients. However, Joe is a member of the Teaching Faculty and Supervisory team for our RELATE and CURIOUS programs at THE SUITES. ​​
